IMD forecast alert heat wave to continue in these 7 states including UP today

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), during May 23 to 27, the sky may be generally cloudy with light rain or drizzle. According to IMD, the weather is likely to remain dry in Uttar Pradesh today and there is a possibility of heat wave in South UP.

New Delhi. Today there is a possibility of heat wave in different parts of Delhi-NCR including South Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Western Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal.

On May 22, the maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to reach 43 degree Celsius. Strong winds can blow in Delhi-NCR during the day. On May 21, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 42.9°C, which was 3°C above normal. However, relief is going to come soon from this heat.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), during May 23 to 27, the sky may be generally cloudy with light rain or drizzle. According to IMD, the weather is likely to remain dry in Uttar Pradesh today and there is a possibility of heat wave in South UP. There is a possibility of rain or thundershowers in UP on May 23. Today there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in Assam and Meghalaya.

IMD has predicted heavy rains at some places in Assam and Meghalaya during May 21 to 25. Along with this, there may be rain with lightning, strong winds (speed of 40-50 kmph) and thunder at different places in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal.

According to IMD, lightning accompanied by gusty winds (30 km) at isolated places over Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, Kerala and Mahe, Odisha, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. It is likely to rain with a speed of -40 kmph. According to IMD, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from May 23. Due to which there may be very heavy rains with thunder/lightning/strong winds in the western Himalayan regions.

Scattered rain may occur mainly over the plains of Northwest India during May 23 to 25. While on May 24 and 25, there may be a thunderstorm (wind speed of 50-60 km per hour) with the possibility of hail and lightning at different places in Uttarakhand. On May 23, there may be heavy rains at some places in Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
