IMD forecast predicts rain with thunder occur in these states including Himachal Pradesh today

New Delhi: For the last several days, the effect of western disturbance was seen on the scorching heat prevailing in the entire North India on Wednesday. It rained heavily in many states and hail fell on the mountains. Due to this, due to the coolness of the northwest winds, a significant drop in temperature was observed in Delhi without rain. In most places, this fall was from four to eight degrees.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that similar conditions will prevail on Thursday as well. It will rain with strong wind and the temperature will also remain low. Due to the activation of Western Disturbance and an upper cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan, the weather started taking a turn in most of the states of North India from Tuesday night itself. Somewhere there was a dust storm and somewhere it rained. This trend continued on Wednesday as well.

While many states including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh received good rains, there was hailstorm in the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir. As a result of this, the heat of summer has reduced more or less everywhere and the temperature has also dropped.

Now if we talk about Delhi, the weather was pleasant since morning. There was no rain anywhere but drizzle was recorded at Ridge, Jafarpur, Narela and Sports Complex. The wind also continued to blow throughout the day. The sun shone in between, but the movement of clouds also continued. Due to this, the day temperature came down by eight degrees Celsius as compared to the day before. A drop was also observed in the minimum temperature.

Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 34.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, which is five notches below normal. If compared to Tuesday’s maximum temperature, there has been a drop of more than eight degrees. Safdarjung’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was 43.5 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature settled at 25.4 degrees Celsius, which is one degree below normal. The minimum temperature has also dropped by more than four degrees as compared to Tuesday. The humidity level in the air remained from 65 to 32 percent.

The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for Thursday. It is estimated that there may be light to moderate rainfall in different parts of Delhi. During this, the wind speed is estimated to be 30 to 40 kmph. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature is likely to be 33 and the minimum temperature will be 24 degree Celsius.

The effect of Western Disturbance is going to remain for the next four-five days. Due to this, the maximum temperature is expected to remain below 38 degree Celsius till May 30 due to drizzling, rain, cloudy sky and moisture in the atmosphere. That is, at present, there is no possibility of the return of heat wave days in Delhi.

Due to the change in the weather, along with the heat in Delhi, pollution has also decreased. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s air quality index stood at 158 on Wednesday. This level of wind is classified as “moderate”. The Meteorological Department estimates that the level of air quality will remain around this for two to three days.

It is raining since Wednesday evening in Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham including the district headquarters. At the same time, in view of the warning of the Meteorological Department, the Uttarkashi Police has also issued an appeal for the pilgrims.

Superintendent of Police Arpan Yaduvanshi said that the Meteorological Department has warned of rain, hailstorm etc. in Uttarakhand for the next 2 days, all the pilgrims are requested to plan their travel only after taking weather updates for the next 2-3 days. Avoid unnecessary risk and trouble.

In the state, Rohtang, Baralacha, Shinkula received light snowfall till noon and light rain in low-lying areas including Manali has brought down the temperature. The mango crop has suffered huge damage in eight districts of the state due to thunderstorm and hailstorm last night. A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department for the next three days till May 27.

During this, there will be snowfall in the higher altitude areas of the state and an alert has been issued for rain with strong winds in the lower areas. Meteorological Director Surendra Pal says that strong winds may have to be faced for a few days. During this, light rain may occur at some places.

The rainfall in the state including the capital has also affected the temperature. Due to this the temperature has dropped. According to the Meteorological Center Patna, the area of a cyclonic circulation is formed in and around Jharkhand. Due to their effect, rain activities will continue in the state till Friday.

There is a possibility of light rain with cloudy sky in and around Patna during the next 24 hours. There are chances of thunderstorms in the southern parts of the state. There is a warning of heavy rain in Kishanganj, Purnia and Katihar. The wind speed is forecast to be 40-50 kmph.
