Dhanbad: 6 contract laborers died due to electrocution due to electric shock near Jharkhor gate of Gomo-Dhanbad rail section in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. Many people are also injured in this accident. The accident took place about one kilometer from Katras station.
As soon as the information of the incident was received, the officials of Dhanbad Railway Division reached the spot and engaged in the rescue. It is being told that all the laborers were engaged in railway work near Jharkhor railway gate of Gomo-Dhanbad railway section. Suddenly all of them got scorched due to the grip of electric high tension wire, due to which 6 laborers died on the spot.
While many laborers got scorched. Following the incident, the up line and down line were closed at Dhanbad and Gomoh railway stations. Relief and rescue teams reached the spot and the bodies of the killed laborers were removed from here. It is being told that most of the laborers killed in this accident are residents of Latehar.
The work at the site was going on for a long time and many laborers had started working in the area two months back. The name of the company which brought these laborers is Sikka. The name of the owner is Sanjay Sikka. The laborers killed include those from Latehar, Palamu and Allahabad. The accident happened due to high tension wire coming in contact with the pole.
According to the information, this accident happened due to falling of 25000 volt electric wire at Nichitpur rail gate between Dhanbad Gomo of New Delhi railway route. Following the incident, train operations were halted for a while. In this, Netaji Express was stopped at Tetulmari station itself. While Pratap Express was also stopped at Dhanbad station.
