Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife, Kalpana Soren, extended her solidarity to Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, during a meeting in Delhi amidst the ongoing ED custody of Arvind Kejriwal.
In a show of support and unity, Kalpana Soren visited Sunita Kejriwal on Saturday, drawing parallels between the recent events in Jharkhand and Delhi. “What transpired in Jharkhand two months ago is now unfolding in Delhi. I am here to share Sunita’s grief,” Kalpana expressed during the meeting.
“We will fight this together, and I will also be meeting Sonia Gandhi later today,” she added.
Arvind Kejriwal was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case. His custody was initially extended until March 28, and subsequently, the court prolonged it until April 1.
Meanwhile, Sunita Kejriwal initiated a WhatsApp campaign named ‘Kejriwal ko Aashirwad’, urging people to send their blessings and prayers. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced a massive rally at the Ramlila Ground on March 31 against the BJP, which will witness the participation of prominent opposition leaders.
Leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, Derek O’Brien, Tiruchi Siva, Farooq Abdullah, and Jharkhand CM Champai Soren are scheduled to attend the rally, according to the AAP.
The AAP stated that it has obtained permission to hold the rally, expecting a turnout of over 20,000 individuals. The rally comes amidst Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to excise policy.
Addressing the media digitally on Friday, Sunita Kejriwal emphasized that her husband has confronted the “most corrupt and dictatorial forces” in the country. She urged people to extend their support through blessings and prayers.
Sunita also shared two WhatsApp numbers, 8297324624 and 9700297002, encouraging people to send their messages of support directly to the AAP national convenor.
