New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a two-day program to mark the 75th anniversary of the Delhi Karnataka Sangh at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium today. Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy, Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai, Nirmalanandanath Mahaswami of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Shivaratri Desikendra Mahaswami of Suttoor Mutt, Nanjavadhutha Swamiji of Sri Sthikpura will be present on this occasion.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a two-day program to mark the 75th anniversary of the Delhi Karnataka Sangh at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium today. Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy, Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai, Nirmalanandanath Mahaswami of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Shivaratri Desikendra Mahaswami of Suttoor Mutt, Nanjavadhutha Swamiji of Sri Sthikpura, Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji of Pejavar Mutt will be present on this occasion.

BJP National General Secretary BL Santosh, Karnataka Kannada and Culture Minister V Sunil Kumar will be present during the closing ceremony on February 26. Delhi Karnataka Sangh President CM Nagaraj told the media that the two-day event will showcase the state’s cultural richness through traditional music, dance and poetry recitations.

They said Dharmasthal’s D Veerendra Hegde, Yaduveer Krishnadutt Chamaraja Wadiyar and BJP leader CT Ravi would also be present on the inauguration day among other dignitaries. BJP National General Secretary BL Santhosh, Karnataka’s Kannada and Culture Minister V Sunil Kumar will be present during the closing ceremony on February 26.

Delhi Karnataka Sangh president CM Nagaraj said the two-day festival will showcase the cultural richness of the state through traditional music, dance and poetry recitation. He said that more than 1,000 artistes from all the districts of the state have been invited for the cultural programmes.

Currently, around 10,000-12,000 people from Karnataka are living in the national capital, of whom around 3,500 are members of the Delhi Karnataka Sangha, he said, adding that the event aims to bring them together and create a cultural bond.Nagaraja also mentioned that it is a “non-political event”.

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also inaugurate ‘Barisu Kannada Dim Dimava’ cultural festival at Talkatora Stadium. The PMO said he would also address the gathering on the occasion.

They also said, “In line with the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’, the ‘Barisu Kannada Dim Dimva’ cultural festival is being organized to celebrate the culture, traditions and history of Karnataka.”

It said that hundreds of artists will showcase the cultural heritage of Karnataka through dance, music, drama and poetry in the festival organized under the ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Independence’.
