Karnataka: Students forced to clean toilet in Shivamogga, school headmaster suspended

Bengaluru: A shocking incident has taken place in Shivamogga of Karnataka. In a school, children were forced to clean the toilet and sweep the toilet. The video of this incident is going viral. After the video came out, the parents of the children expressed their anger. Shivamogga is state Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa’s home district and the Block Education Officer has filed a report.

The shocking incident happened sometime last week but the video surfaced just now. The school told the BDA the students – from Class Six – were only asked to pour water in to and not clean the toilets. Responding to the incident, the Education Department has suspended the principal, Shankarappa. The principal of the school said that the BDA students were only asked to pour water and not to clean the toilet.

The Dalit Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) submitted a complaint in this regard with the Assistant Commissioner, Satyanarayana. It is alleged that the head master Shankarappa and other teachers had engaged the school children to clean toilets. After which the angry parents and workers protested outside the school in Andrahalli area of ​​the city. This incident was condemned by the Minister of Education Madhu Bangarappa. However, he has not yet commented on the incident in his home district.

On the previous case, he said, “…there is no doubt that we will take strict action as per the law. Also, I will ensure that such incidents do not recur… and ensure that necessary action is taken by our department.” Let it be.” After the Bengaluru tragedy, the education department suspended the principal of the school.

The arrest was made following the complaint by the Block Education Officer (BEO) Anjinappa in this regard with the Byadarahalli police station. Along with this, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar warned those who force children to do such work. The Congress leader said that while NSS and Seva Dal camps used to train children to clean gardens and plant saplings, we did not allow children to clean toilets.

The arrest was made following the complaint by the Block Education Officer (BEO) Anjinappa in this regard with the Byadarahalli police station. Before the Bengaluru and Shivamogga incidents, a hostel school principal and a teacher were arrested, while four contract workers were sacked after a video surfaced of Dalit students cleaning septic tanks in Kolar district. In another video, the student was seen sitting on his knees with a heavy bag.
