Madhya Pradesh: A distressing incident has emerged wherein a school girl was reportedly gang-raped by two youths, one of whom is believed to be a minor. The case has been registered at the Umri police station under the provisions of the POCSO Act.
According to reports, the victim, an 11-year-old girl, left her home to ride her bicycle on the evening of March 29. While at a bicycle puncture shop, she encountered two youths from her neighborhood. One of them purportedly offered to accompany her on the bicycle.
Subsequently, they allegedly led her towards a ravine, where the minor accomplice joined them. Allegedly, they collectively restrained her and took turns in committing the appalling act of rape.
Following the incident, both accused individuals fled the scene. The victim courageously returned home and disclosed the traumatic ordeal to her family, who promptly accompanied her to the police station to lodge a formal complaint.
Here, a case was filed against both defendants based on the victim’s complaint. An investigation into the situation was launched by the police.
