MP Woman Fakes Kidnapping for Rs 30 Lakh Ransom: Police Investigation Reveals Shocking Twist

A startling revelation emerged from Kota, Rajasthan, where a 21-year-old woman from Madhya Pradesh resorted to a desperate measure—she faked her own kidnapping to extort money from her parents with a demand of Rs 30 lakh. The young woman, identified as Kavya, had traveled to Kota ostensibly for studies but had ulterior motives of fleeing abroad, lacking the necessary funds to do so.

According to the police, Kavya, accompanied by her mother, initially enrolled in a hostel in Kota for coaching classes. However, she spent a mere three days there before absconding to Indore with a friend who shared her aspiration of leaving the country. Despite being away, Kavya meticulously crafted a facade to deceive her parents, sending them fabricated pictures and messages to maintain the illusion of her presence in Kota.

The elaborate ruse took a serious turn when Kavya’s father, Raghuveer Dhakad, reported her abduction to the Kota Police on March 18. He disclosed that the purported kidnappers demanded a hefty ransom of Rs 30 lakh and even sent distressing images of their daughter bound and gagged.

After intensive investigations, authorities managed to track down Kavya in Indore on Tuesday evening. Shockingly, it was revealed that she had been residing there with two male friends ever since leaving Kota. Further probing uncovered the truth behind the staged abduction—Kavya and her accomplice concocted the plan as a means to finance their escape overseas, a dream hindered by financial constraints.

The police shed light on the elaborate scheme, detailing how Kavya orchestrated the fake abduction by having her pictures taken in a friend’s room, while all three individuals involved switched off their mobile phones to evade detection. Despite the unraveling of her deceit, Kavya and her friend remain at large, prompting law enforcement to urge them to surrender at the earliest.

The bizarre case serves as a cautionary tale, highlighting the lengths some individuals may go to in pursuit of their aspirations, even at the expense of betraying their loved ones’ trust.
