Mumbai: 5 Children drowned due to sea waves near Juhu Beach located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. One has been rescued by the rescue team while 4 others are said to be missing. The age of the missing youth is said to be 12 to 15 years. All the boys had reached a distance of half a kilometer from the beach where this accident happened to them. Due to the high waves rising in the sea, the relief and rescue teams are facing a lot of trouble. The incident took place on Monday evening at 5.28 pm.

A boy was rescued by fishermen. Navy and Coast Guard have been deployed to search for others. It is worth noting that people were continuously alerted by the government on the sea coasts regarding cyclone Biparjoy in the Arabian Sea. Fishermen were also instructed to avoid going into the deep sea. Amidst the possibility of a storm, high tides are being seen in the Arabian Sea.

2 NDRF teams deployed in Mumbai regarding cyclone ‘Biparjoy’
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed two additional teams in Mumbai as a precautionary measure in view of the possibility of cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ making landfall in Kutch district of neighboring Gujarat on June 15.

He said that in addition to the three teams already deployed in the metropolis, NDRF teams have been deployed in Andheri and Kanjurmarg areas in the western and eastern suburbs respectively.

The official said that as a precaution, we have deployed two more teams in addition to the three teams already present in Mumbai. He said that the team of Disaster Response Force located in Pune has been kept ready. He said that NDRF has sent four teams to Gujarat to deal with the possible effects of the cyclone in the Arabian Sea.
