NIA raids at 15 locations in terror related cases across Jammu and Kashmir

Earlier on Monday, the NIA raided 13 places in the valley as part of its crackdown on terrorist organizations and their affiliates who were disturbing peace and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar: NIA has raided several locations in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning in cases related to terrorism. The raids are being conducted at 15 places in Jammu and Kashmir including Srinagar, Pulwama, Awantipora, Shopian, Poonch and Kupwara.

Along with NIA officials, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel are also involved in the raid operation. According to reports, this raid of NIA has taken place in a case related to the banned organization Jamaat-e-Islami. Let us tell you that earlier on Monday also the agency had raided Jammu and Kashmir in a case related to terrorism.

NIA had conducted extensive searches earlier also

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday raided 13 places in the Valley as part of its crackdown on terrorist organizations and their affiliates who were disturbing peace and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir. An agency spokesperson had said that raids were conducted in Anantnag, Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian and Budgam districts and incriminating material and documents were seized during the raids.

He had said that the agency had arrested 13 new organizations affiliated to, sympathizers of, working for, or having done with several Pakistan-based terrorist organizations, including Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Al Badr, and Al Qaeda. Intensive searches were started at the bases.

The agency had said in a statement that Monday’s raids carried out work for several new organizations such as The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu and Kashmir, Mujahideen Ghazwat-ul-Hind, Jammu Kashmir Freedom Fighters, Kashmir Tigers, PAAF. The activities of the perpetrators are part of the ongoing NIA probe into their terror conspiracy.

The NIA said that apart from terrorist and violent activities, these people have also been found involved in storing and distributing magnet bombs, IEDs, money, drugs and weapons. In connection with the investigation of this case, the NIA had conducted more than 70 raids in Jammu and Kashmir since the beginning of this month till Monday.
