New Delhi: After horrific Shraddha Walker murder case, the Nikki Yadav murder case is now in discussion in Delhi. According to the police, 22-year-old Nikki was strangled to death by his 24-year-old live-in partner Sahil Gehlot after a quarrel over marriage. Later he hides the dead body in the fridge of his dhaba.
Before Sahil could dispose of Nikki’s body, someone informed the police. Police recovered the body on 10 February and arrested Sahil. Meanwhile, CCTV footage before the murder has also surfaced, in which Nikki Yadav is seen going to her boyfriend Sahil’s house. Only after this she was murdered.
According to the police, on the evening of February 9, Nikki and Sahil Gehlot had a fight in the car regarding marriage. Things got so bad that an angry Sahil strangled Nikki with the cable (wire) of the mobile charger at the ISBT located at Kashmere Gate. Then took his dead body to the dhaba of his village 40 kilometers away and hid it in the fridge.
Sahil Gehlot, accused of murdering Nikki Yadav, married another girl the very next day. The crime branch has arrested the accused. Sahil was produced in the court on the previous day. The court has sent him on remand for 5 days. Nikki’s family has demanded the death penalty for Sahil.
Nikki Yadav was last seen in CCTV footage entering her house in South-West Delhi. Both were living together. She is seen alone in the video of 9 February. Police say that Sahil Gehlot killed her a few hours later. There was a fight between the two in the car for about three hours over Sahil marrying another woman.
Police said that when things got worse, Sahil strangulated Nikki using a charging cable. In police interrogation, Sahil told that he was allegedly nervous. He decided to hide the body in the freezer kept in his family’s dhaba. He was married the next day.
According to the police, Nikki Yadav was not even aware that her live-in partner had got engaged to another woman. Police sources said that Nikki came to know about this a day before Sahil’s wedding. A day before the wedding, both of them had a fight in the car. Police said that Nikki and Sahil met while preparing for the medical entrance exam and were in a live-in relationship for years.
