The police had registered a non-cognizable (NC) offense and also received a counter-complaint in response. Seeking immediate resolution, Jadhav visited the police chowky in Wagholi on Tuesday morning.

Despite assurances from the police personnel regarding necessary action, the absence of arrest provisions under an NC complaint left Jadhav dissatisfied. Subsequently, he took a drastic step, stepping outside and setting himself ablaze after dousing his body with an inflammable substance.
