Rahul Gandhi’s Nationwide Yatra Concludes in Mumbai: A Show of Opposition Unity

Mumbai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s extensive Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra reaches its culmination today in Mumbai, marking the end of a 6,700-km journey that commenced from Manipur two months ago. Key allies including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav are expected to attend the event at Shivaji Park, affirming solidarity with the Congress leader’s cause, according to sources within the party.

Notable political figures such as Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya, Sharad Pawar, and Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren are also anticipated to join the gathering, signaling a message of opposition unity ahead of the impending Lok Sabha elections.

Former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi is slated to be present at the event, with sources indicating her prior engagements with Maharashtra alliance leaders earlier in the day.

Additionally, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who joined the yatra yesterday upon her arrival in Mumbai, will be in attendance at the concluding ceremony.

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, spanning across 100 Lok Sabha constituencies in 15 states, was launched from Imphal on January 14. Its route traversed through states such as Assam, West Bengal, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra, drawing attention to key socio-political issues affecting various regions.

This nationwide foot march, initiated in anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, follows the party’s successful Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanniyakumari to Kashmir last year. The Congress attributes its victories in assembly elections in Telangana and Karnataka to the momentum generated by these yatras.
