Rajasthan: An official said that a student hanged herself in her rented room of a hostel in Kota, Rajasthan on Wednesday. She was 19-year-old. After getting information about this incident local police reached on the spot.
According to the information, 19-year-old student was preparing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). As per the data, this is the eighth suicide this year and the second such incident in the country’s ‘coaching hub’ in two days.
The victim was identified as Soumya. She was a resident of Lucknow. She was attending private coaching classes as part of her preparation for NEET. Soumya’s body has been kept in the hospital mortuary and her family has been informed.
She’s post-mortem will be conducted after her family reaches Kota. Earlier, 20-year-old Uruj Khan was found hanging from a fan in his rented room in Kota a NEET aspirant. He hailed from Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh.
The police are investigating what led the student to take the extreme step. 29 students preparing for NEET in Kota had committed suicide last year, as per reports. The Supreme Court gave this verdict while hearing a petition seeking regulation of private coaching institutes.
