Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, representing Lucknow in Parliament, actively participated in a cleanliness drive at the Hanuman Setu temple in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, as part of the Swachh Teerth campaign. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for citizens to engage in cleanliness activities at temples and places of religious significance ahead of the upcoming Ram Mandir consecration in Ayodhya on January 22.

Sharing his experience on social media, Singh emphasized the importance of Prime Minister Modi’s call and stated, “Today, I went to Hanuman Setu temple in Lucknow and did Shramdaan under #SwachhTeerth campaign and got the privilege of serving Hanumanji.” He also posted pictures of his participation in the cleanliness drive.

Rajnath Singh Leads Swachh Teerth Campaign at Hanuman Setu Temple. Speaking to reporters during the event, Rajnath Singh expressed joy over the upcoming pran pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in the Ram Mandir. He noted the global participation expected in the event and highlighted the extensive preparations underway in Ayodhya, including the decoration of Karsevakpuram with items themed on the epic ‘Ramayana.’

As Ayodhya prepares for the historic Ram Mandir inauguration on January 22, the soil from Ram Janmabhoomi, extracted during foundation digging, will be presented to dignitaries. The Teerth Kshetra Trust plans to distribute special ‘Motichoor laddus’ made from desi ghee as ‘Prasad’ to the guests as part of the celebration.
