Chikkaballapur, Bengaluru: In a profound celebration on Makar Sankranti, renowned spiritual leader Sadhguru consecrated a majestic 54-feet Mahashula statue and a 21-feet Nandi statue at Sadhguru Sannidhi in Chikkaballapur near Bengaluru. The ceremony, attended by thousands of devotees, marked a historic event, enriching the spiritual ambiance alongside the iconic 112-feet Adiyogi.

Symbolic Beauty Enhanced

The Nandi, symbolizing a meditative bull, and the Mahashula, representing Shiva’s trident, now stand as magnificent additions to the spiritual landscape at Sadhguru Sannidhi. These statues complement the already-present iconic 112-feet Adiyogi, creating an ethereal environment for devotees and visitors.

Festivities and Cultural Extravaganza

The consecration event drew thousands of devotees who participated in the day-long festivities. Traditional cultural performances and a vibrant Sankranti Jathre added color to the celebration, creating a joyous atmosphere. The highlight was the inclusion of Kamsale, a traditional Karnataka art form, performed in front of Adiyogi for the first time. This brass-made musical instrument, played in pairs, contributed a rhythmic tune, captivating the audience.

Sadhguru’s Insights

Sadhguru shared profound insights into the symbolism of Nandi, emphasizing its representation of eternal waiting as a virtue in Indian culture. He stated, “One who knows how to simply sit and wait is naturally meditative.” Regarding Mahashula, Sadhguru explained its significance in representing the three aspects of creation, maintenance, and destruction, ultimately revealing the oneness underlying these forces.

Community Enchantment

Local residents expressed their enchantment with the festivities and the newly added statues. Raghavendra Kumar, a Chikkaballapur village resident, remarked, “The addition of the Shiva trident and Nandi bull awestruck me with their presence in front of the majestic Adiyogi. My kids enjoyed the cultural performance and reconnected with their roots.”

Sadhguru Sannidhi, opened to the public in October 2022, aligns with Sadhguru’s vision to create spiritual infrastructure worldwide. Besides the Naga shrine and Adiyogi, it currently houses Yogeshawara Linga and will feature Linga Bhairavi Devi, Navagraha Shrines, and energized water bodies.

Visitors were treated to a laser show and the daily Adiyogi Divya Darshanam, a video imaging show, enhancing their spiritual experience.
