Student Expresses Disappointment Over Removal of Hemant Soren’s Portrait from Classroom

Jharkhand : In a poignant gesture, a seventh-grade student from Palamu district in Jharkhand penned a heartfelt letter to former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, expressing her dismay over the removal of his portrait from her classroom. Thirteen-year-old Manisha, a student at CM Excellence School, was moved by Soren’s dedication to improving education in the region and was disheartened to find his portrait missing from the classroom wall.

Letter Goes Viral

Manisha’s handwritten letter quickly gained traction on social media platforms, drawing attention to the incident. In her letter, she conveyed her admiration for Soren’s efforts to enhance educational opportunities for students like herself, underscoring the impact his leadership had on the community.

Local Administration’s Response

While the local administration, led by Sub-divisional Magistrate Anurag Kumar Tiwary, stated that they had not yet received any video evidence regarding the removal of the portrait, they assured that the matter would be thoroughly investigated if necessary. The incident has sparked conversations about the significance of recognizing and honoring public figures who have positively impacted the lives of citizens.

Appreciation for Soren’s Contributions

Principal Karunand Tiwary acknowledged the widespread appreciation for Soren’s educational initiatives, which included providing free schooling for underprivileged students. Despite Soren’s current custody by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case related to an alleged land scam, Manisha and her parents continue to hold him in high regard for his contributions to education and social welfare in the region.

Manisha’s letter serves as a poignant reminder of the profound impact leaders can have on the lives of ordinary citizens, especially in the realm of education, and underscores the importance of recognizing and celebrating their efforts.
