Bird flu outbreak in Ranchi prompts authorities to quarantine 2 doctors and 6 others staff members

Following confirmation of the spread of bird flu, strict measures have been implemented under the guidelines of the Animal Husbandry Ministry. One of the primary actions taken is a complete ban on the sale and purchase of all birds within a radius of one kilometer of the center of the outbreak.

Prevention of avian flu involves vaccination and avoiding handling sick birds. Similar precautions to those recommended for COVID-19, such as hand hygiene and avoiding contact with potentially contaminated surfaces, are advised.
