Telangana: Godavari River Surpasses Danger Mark, Bhadrachalam Area Under Alert

Telangana: The water level in the Godavari river has surpassed the critical mark, leading authorities to issue a cautionary advisory for the Bhadrachalam area in Telangana.

As of 11 AM on Saturday, the water level in the Godavari river at the temple town of Bhadrachalam has reached 54.60 ft, surpassing the third and final warning level set at 53 ft. In response to the situation, all district officials are on high alert, coordinating relief efforts in the affected villages.

To ensure the safety of residents in vulnerable areas, evacuation measures have been carried out, and people have been relocated to relief camps in the district. Despite the subsiding rains, rescue operations have picked up pace in flood-affected regions across the state. Unfortunately, torrential rains over the past week have led to the loss of 16 lives.

Warangal, too, is experiencing waterlogging in certain areas despite the decrease in rainfall. In response, the state government has established relief camps and intensified rescue and rehabilitation efforts in the rain-affected regions.

The agricultural sector has suffered significant damage due to the heavy rains and flooding in multiple districts.

Tragically, eight individuals lost their lives in floodwaters in Mulugu district following the heavy downpour. Their bodies were recovered on Friday.

According to Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar, approximately 19,000 people have been safely relocated to various districts with the assistance of respective district administrations.
