In a somber development, a second-year Master of Technology (M.Tech) student at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, identified as Vikas Meena, aged 31, has reportedly died by suicide in his hostel room. The incident occurred late on Wednesday night, with Meena found hanging by fellow students who became concerned about the prolonged inactivity and locked door of his room.

Kalyanpur Station House Officer, Dhananjay Pandey, shared that upon receiving information, the police promptly arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and initiated necessary procedures. Hailing from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Meena was pursuing aerospace engineering at IIT Kanpur.
