A bizarre incident in Maharashtra’s Kalyan involving a train selfie has not only led to the arrest of a phone snatcher but also unraveled the mystery behind a tragic death. The thief, identified as Akash Jadhav, unwittingly filmed himself on a moving train, captured by a vigilant passenger.
Train Selfie Leads to Arrest of Phone Snatcher. The video, subsequently shared on social media, caught the attention of Kalyan Railway Police, resulting in Jadhav’s swift apprehension. During interrogation, Jadhav was found in possession of a second stolen mobile phone, prompting authorities to delve deeper into its origins.
Upon switching on the device, investigators discovered it belonged to Prabhas Bhange, a Pune resident who tragically lost his life after falling from a train at Vitthalwadi railway station on March 25. Initially deemed an accident, the circumstances surrounding Bhange’s death became clearer upon further investigation.
It was revealed that Jadhav had snatched Bhange’s phone while both were aboard the train. In an attempt to retrieve his stolen device, Bhange made a fatal decision to disembark from the moving train, resulting in his untimely demise.
Railway police officer Pandharinath Kande confirmed the sequence of events, highlighting the tragic consequences of Jadhav’s theft. A case has been registered against the accused, shedding light on the interconnectedness of the incident and serving as a cautionary tale against reckless actions.
