New Delhi: The National Center for Seismology said that earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi and adjoining areas on Thursday after earthquake struck Afghanistan. According to the information, there were no casualties reported.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicentre of the magnitude 6.1 earthquake was near Afghanistan. In a post on X, National Center for Seismology tweeted, “Earthquake of Magnitude:6.1, Occurred on 11-01-2024, 14:50:24 IST, Lat: 36.48 & Long: 70.45, Depth: 220 Km ,Location: Afghanistan.”

The NCS said that the tremors were felt at 2.50 pm. The epicentre for the quake was 241 kilometres of northeast of Kabul, it added.
According to the information, Tremors were also felt in Pakistan’s Lahore, and in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including in Poonch. However, there were no immediate reports of any injury or destruction due to the earthquake.
