In a shocking incident that has ignited widespread condemnation, a tribal man in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul was stripped, hung upside down, and ruthlessly thrashed, marking the second such violent episode in the district within a week. The victim, who operates a tea shop, revealed that the assailants relentlessly demanded ‘cut money’ while subjecting him to the brutal assault, as captured in a viral video circulating on social media.

Recounting the harrowing ordeal, he shared, “They stripped me, tied me up, and then beat me with sticks, belts, and slippers. I don’t know why I was being beaten, but they demanded money for the tea shop that I run with my father.”

The incident occurred in November, but the victim refrained from filing a complaint due to fears that the attackers would harm his family. “They had a gun, and I heard that one of them has also committed a murder, which is why I didn’t tell anyone. When the video went viral, I informed my elder brother that this had happened to me a few months ago,” he explained.

The police have now registered a case, and a search is underway to apprehend the perpetrators. This disturbing event follows another incident in Betul where a tribal man was brutally beaten and made to pose as a “murga” on Monday. The assailants, led by Chanchal Rajput, an alleged member of Bajrang Dal, subjected the victim to physical violence and casteist slurs.
