West Bengal: Probe agency ED raids multiple locations in teachers recruitment scam

Kolkata: On Friday, an official said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducting searches at multiple locations in Kolkata and its neighbouring areas in connection with the teachers' recruitment scam case. The raids were underway in Dum Dum city of the North 24 Parganas district.

Kolkata: On Friday, an official said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducting searches at multiple locations in Kolkata and its neighbouring areas in connection with the teachers’ recruitment scam case.

The raids were underway in Dum Dum city of the North 24 Parganas district. Police said a five-member ED team was conducting searches at the residence of a former para-teacher, who was allegedly a close aide of arrested former state education minister Partha Chatterjee, in Patharghata Mazar Sharif area of ​​New Town, adjacent to Kolkata.

The officials said that searches were also underway at the house of an accountant in Nagerbazar area in the northern part of the city. ED searches were conducted in Rajarhat area at the residences of some businessmen, teachers, and intermediaries allegedly involved in the scam.

The ongoing raids are part of the ED’s probe to track the flow of money in the multi-crore scam. Earlier, former Education Minister of West Bengal, Partha Chatterjee, along with others associated with the education department were arrested in the scam case.
