In response to the prevailing harsh weather conditions, the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council (UPBEC) has announced an extension of winter vacations for all primary schools up to class 8 in Gautam Budh Nagar, including Noida. The decision, communicated by Rahul Pawar, Basic Shiksha Adhikari, comes as a precautionary measure due to extreme cold and dense fog in the district.

Initially reopened on January 1 after a brief closure in December, all schools, including council-run and aided/recognized schools, will now remain closed until January 14, 2024. The decision aligns with the guidelines received from the respected District Magistrate, considering the adverse weather conditions.
Parents and students are advised to stay connected with their respective schools for further details. Additionally, the government has revised the school timings for classes 9 to 12, now scheduled from 10 am to 3 pm.

The weather forecast department has issued a sub-divisional warning, anticipating cold wave conditions with fog on Saturday and Sunday, followed by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and fog on Tuesday.
