22 Leaders from Chirag Paswan’s LJP Resign, Set to Support I.N.D.I.A Bloc Ahead of PM Modi’s Rally in Bihar

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Jamui, Bihar, a significant blow has hit Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) as 22 leaders resigned from the party. The leaders leveled serious allegations against Chirag Paswan, accusing him of selling Lok Sabha tickets, which has sparked turmoil within the party just days before the elections.

Allegations of Ticket Sale

Ravindra Singh, Organization Secretary of LJP, accused Chirag Paswan of betraying the people of Bihar by allegedly selling Lok Sabha tickets. The abrupt resignation of these leaders reflects growing discontent within the party and poses a challenge for Paswan as he faces mounting criticism.

Earlier, on March 30, Paswan had announced candidates for all five seats in Bihar that LJP will contest as an NDA ally.

PM Modi’s Rally in Jamui

The resignations come just hours before Prime Minister Modi’s scheduled rally in Jamui, where he is expected to launch the NDA’s Lok Sabha poll campaign in Bihar. Paswan, who has handed over the mantle to his brother-in-law Arun Bharti, had expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s gesture.

High Stakes for NDA in Bihar

Bihar is crucial for the NDA’s electoral prospects, with PM Modi aiming to secure a third consecutive term. The rally in Jamui marks the beginning of the campaign in Bihar, with the Prime Minister seeking to consolidate support ahead of the polls.

First Phase of Elections

The constituencies of Jamui, Aurangabad, Gaya, and Nawada in Bihar are among the first to go to polls in the initial phase on April 19. The developments within LJP add an unexpected twist to the political landscape, raising questions about the party’s unity and prospects in the upcoming elections.
