Delhi: 37-year-old man arrested for writes Pro-Khalistan slogans on walls of a park in Tilak Nagar

New Delhi: An official said that a man was arrested for allegedly writing pro-Khalistan slogans on the walls of a park in Tilak Nagar area of west Delhi. He was 37-year-old. The accused identified as Jasvinder alias Lucky.

New Delhi: An official said that a man was arrested for writing pro-Khalistan slogans on the walls of a park in Tilak Nagar area of west Delhi. He was 37-year-old.

The accused identified as Jasvinder alias Lucky. He was a resident of Tilak Nagar and arrested after the incident. A senior police officer said that Jasvinder was identified with the help of footage obtained from around 1,000 CCTV cameras and intelligence input.

Giving details about this incident, Vichitra Veer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) said Jasvinder wrote slogans such as “Delhi Banega Khalistan” on the wall of a park located at Vishnu Garden near a school in Tilak Nagar on the night of January 25.He added, after the incident a case was lodged under the Prevention of Defacement of Property Act at the Tilak Nagar Police Station on January 26.

During interrogation, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said that Jasvinder confessed to committing the crime and said he was paid by his friend Gagandeep to write the controversial slogans on the walls.

He further said that Gagandeep is presently based in the US and he offered the accused Rs 15,000 for the act. The DCP said that as Jasvinder was in dire need of money to pay his house rent, he wrote the slogans and even recorded a video and sent to Gagandeep,

On the question of the accused’s relationship with pro-Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, chief of the banned organization Sikh for Justice (SFJ), Ankit Singh said that Jaswinder has denied any connection with him but further investigation is underway. Police said they are confirming whether the accused received any money to commit the act.
