BJP releases 4th list of candidates for Karnataka elections, KS Eshwarappa son denied ticket

Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its fourth list of candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections. There is only one day left to file nominations for the May 10 assembly elections in Karnataka. The ruling BJP on Wednesday released its fourth list of candidates for the remaining two constituencies, Shivamogga and Manvi. In Shivamogga, the party has given ticket to Channabasappa while refusing to give ticket to the family of sitting MLA and senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa.

Eshwarappa had recently expressed his desire to retire from electoral politics to the party’s central leadership and requested Shivamogga not to field him in the assembly elections.

However, he is said to have sought a ticket from the constituency for his son’s E contest. Senior BJP leader and MLC Ayanur Manjunath, who was a ticket contender from Shivamogga, quit the party today and joined the JD(S). He is now the JD(S) candidate from the constituency.

ST reserved constituency Manvi Se Party has fielded BV Nayak as its candidate. Along with the announcement of this list, BJP has announced candidates for all 224 assembly constituencies of the state. April 20 is the last date for filing nominations. Voting will be held on May 10 and counting on May 13.
