Delhi: 35-year-old missing man found dead, 3 accused arrested

New Delhi: The police said that a 35-year-old man was found dead in Baljeet Nagar, who went missing under mysterious circumstances last week. The man was identified as Madhav Singh. He was a resident of Gulshan Chowk in Anand Parbat.

The victim was worked as a labourer in a factory. According to police, he was allegedly killed by a man and his wife with whom the deceased was in an extramarital affair. After the incident, police said they have arrested the woman along with her two associates and started further investigation into the matter.

About this incident, M Harsha Vardhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) said that a missing complaint of Singh was lodged on March 27 at the Anand Parbat police station by one of his relatives.

He added,”During the investigation and analysis of Singh’s phone, it was revealed that he was in contact with a woman named Jyoti, who had called him to her house in Punjabi Basti, Baljeet Nagar.”

Further investigation deepened suspicion about Jyoti and her husband’s involvement in Singh’s disappearance, the officer said. When the police went to Jyoti’s house, it was found locked and belongings scattered on the floor.

The victim’s body was found buried in a sewage pit there. Jyoti and her accountant husband were arrested at Sunda. The DCP said that during interrogation, both of them admitted that Singh had an illicit relationship with Jyoti.

They revealed the involvement of Surjeet, a resident of Baljit Nagar, and he was also arrested in connection with the case. The officer said that they were with Jyoti. The accused couple told the police that they had called Singh to their house on March 25.

The police officer added that with Surjeet’s help, they allegedly thrashed Singh and disposed of the body. Surjeet has previously been involved in criminal cases of theft and assault.
