Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to immerse himself in a 10-day Vipassana meditation course from December 19 to December 30. This annual practice, undertaken by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor, involves a period of secluded meditation, during which practitioners refrain from communication through speech or gestures.
Kejriwal, an advocate for the ancient Indian meditation technique, will depart for an undisclosed location immediately after the scheduled conclusion of the winter session of the Delhi Assembly. Despite some criticism, he has consistently devoted time to this practice in previous years, attending sessions in various locations such as Bengaluru, Jaipur, Dharamkot, and Nagpur.
Vipassana, renowned for its focus on mindfulness and self-awareness, is a methodical meditation system designed to promote mental well-being. During the meditation period, participants like Kejriwal abstain from all forms of communication, fostering a deep internal reflection.
In 2023 after taking the break the CM said, “After seven days of Vipassana meditation, I have come out today. Meditation has always given me spiritual strength and mental peace. This time also I am returning with more energy .”
In 2021, Kejriwal underwent a training session in Jaipur in September, and his dedication to this meditative discipline has taken him to various centers across the country. The practice, rooted in ancient Indian tradition, has become a cornerstone of Kejriwal’s routine, providing him with the spiritual and mental fortitude needed for his demanding role as Chief Minister.
As Kejriwal sets out on this journey of self-discovery and rejuvenation, the public awaits his return, hopeful for a reinvigorated leader ready to tackle the challenges facing Delhi with renewed energy and determination.
