Delhi court grants bail to AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in Waqf Board case

New Delhi: On Saturday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan granted bail by Delhi's Rouse Avenue court in a case related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Waqf Board. Amanatullah Khan appeared before the court following summons issued to him by the court.

New Delhi: On Saturday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan granted bail by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court in a case related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Waqf Board. Amanatullah Khan appeared before the court following summons issued to him by the court.

Recently, The probe agency has filed a complaint against Amanatullah Khan for not appearing before the agency and not joining the probe in the case. Divya Malhotra,the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) noted his presence, granting him bail on a personal bond of ₹15,000 and one surety of like amount.

ED’s complaint was moved under section 174 of the IPC, 1860, read with section 63 (4) of PMLA, 2002 for non-attendance in compliance of Section 50, PMLA, 2002. He allegedly acquired “huge proceeds of crime” in cash through the illegal recruitment of staff and invested the amount to purchase immovable assets in the name of his associates, according to the ED case.

Recently, the Enforcement Directorate questioned to him for more than 13 hours in connection with the case. He reached the ED office in central Delhi around 11 a.m. and left after midnight, after more than 13 hours of questioning.

After this he told reporters that he deposed before the ED on the directions of the Supreme Court and that his statement was recorded by the agency. He also said he has been asked to provide some documents to the agency in connection with this probe.
