In a disturbing incident on the Daryaganj-ITO road in central Delhi, a Delhi Police head constable is accused of driving under the influence and colliding with several vehicles. The incident, which occurred early Sunday morning, involved the head constable, identified as Mohit, allegedly hitting a cab among other vehicles.

Drunk Delhi Police Head Constable Allegedly Hits Multiple Vehicles. The cab driver, Ramesh, reported the collision, stating that his vehicle was rear-ended by Mohit’s car. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Mohit was indeed a head constable serving in the Delhi Police’s Special Cell.

A senior police officer provided details, mentioning that despite the minor damages, Ramesh initially hesitated to file a police report. However, action under section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act was taken against Mohit.

Reports suggest that Mohit, driving a Maruti Suzuki Baleno, collided with at least three other vehicles around 2 am. The taxi driver recounted the sequence of events, noting that after hitting his cab, Mohit’s car proceeded towards ITO.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident, promising strict action against any individuals found responsible. They are also scrutinizing CCTV footage to gather more information about the incident.

This incident underscores the importance of road safety and the need for accountability, especially among law enforcement personnel who are expected to uphold the law.
