Delhi Records Hottest Day of Year : As temperatures soar in Delhi, reaching a peak of 39.1 degrees Celsius, relief is on the horizon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted rainfall for April 13 and 14, potentially bringing respite from the scorching heat.
Delhi witnessed its hottest day of the season as the mercury soared to 39.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. This marks the highest maximum temperature recorded in the city so far this year. The IMD data indicates that the previous second-highest maximum was noted on March 9 at 38 degrees Celsius.
The weather office has issued an ‘Orange’ alert for parts of the hill states, warning of heavy rainfall or snowfall. In Delhi-NCR, the forecast for Thursday includes a partly cloudy sky with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to settle around 39 and 19 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Kuldeep Srivastava, scientist and head of the Regional Meteorological Centre, predicts that Delhi may experience temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius this week. However, relief is in sight as rainfall is expected on April 13 and 14, accompanied by thunderstorms. This rainfall is likely to provide much-needed respite from the prevailing heatwave conditions.
