Former BJP MP Urges CM Yogi Adityanath to Include LK Advani in Ayodhya Consecration on January 22

Former BJP MP and prominent figure in the Ram temple movement, Ram Vilas Vedanti, called on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to facilitate the participation of BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani in the upcoming consecration ceremony scheduled for January 22 in Ayodhya. This plea follows the Ram Temple Trust’s recommendation on December 18, advising Advani and another BJP veteran, Murli Manohar Joshi, not to attend the ceremony due to their age.

Highlighting the substantial contributions of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Advani, and Joshi to the BJP, Vedanti urged the UP government, particularly Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, to make arrangements for Advani’s presence at the sanctum sanctorum during the ceremony.

Earlier, Ram Temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai had discouraged Advani and Joshi from attending the ceremony, citing their age. However, on December 19, the Vishva Hindu Parishad stepped in, with its working president Alok Kumar inviting both veterans to the consecration ceremony. Advani and Joshi expressed their intent to make “every effort” to join the event on January 22, as conveyed by Kumar in a statement.
