Himachal Pradesh: Tourist from Punjab dies due to drowning while bathing in waterfall in Dharamshala

Police said that Pawan was a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab. According to the ASP, when they were searching for Pawan's body, it was recovered about 100 meters away from the incident site and the body will be handed over to the family after post-mortem.

Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh): In yet another tragic incident, a 32-year-old tourist from Punjab killed after he allegedly drowned while bathing in a canal near Bhagsu Nag Waterfall in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Police gave this information on Sunday. Police said that the incident happened on Saturday. Pawan Kumar, hails from Punjab, was washed away by the strong flowing water while taking bath. At the time of incident he was along with his four friends.

Kangra’s Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Bir Bahadur said that a person named Amit Kumar informed the McLeodganj police about the incident on Saturday evening.

ASP said that Pawan Kumar and his four friends were bathing in the canal near Bhagsunag waterfall, when suddenly the water level increased.

Bahadur said that the police reached the spot along with a team of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and started searching for Pawan.

Police said that Pawan was a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab. According to the ASP, when they were searching for Pawan’s body, it was recovered about 100 meters away from the incident site and the body will be handed over to the family after post-mortem.
