Inner Ring Road scam case: Supreme court rejects Andhra govt’s plea against anticipatory bail to TDP’s Naidu

Andhra Pradesh: On Monday, The Supreme Cour dismissed the Andhra Pradesh government’s plea in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road scam case challenging the anticipatory bail granted to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu .

According to the information received by court a bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta dismissed the plea of the state government in which it challenged the High Court’s January 10 order giving relief to Naidu.

The bench said the appeal of other accused in the case arising out of the same FIR had already been rejected by the court last year.

In view of the earlier order passed by this court, it said that the bench is not inclined to entertain the appeal of the state government. The Inner Ring Road scam case relates to the manipulation of the master plan of the capital city of Amravati, the alignment of the Inner Ring Road and the initial capital during Naidu’s tenure as chief minister to allegedly offer undue favors to several companies.
