Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has filed a plea in the Delhi High Court seeking the dismissal of the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) case against her in the alleged Rs 200 crore extortion case linked to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. In her plea, Jacqueline contends that the accusations are baseless, asserting that she has been deceived not only by Sukesh but also by Aditi Singh, another figure implicated in the case.
According to the actress, she is an innocent victim of Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s targeted attack and emphasizes that there is no evidence of her involvement in money laundering. The plea aims to quash the ECIR dated August 8, 2021, and subsequent proceedings, citing ED’s evidence as proof of her innocence.
Jacqueline Fernandez, previously questioned multiple times by the Enforcement Directorate, has been in the spotlight regarding the extortion case. Allegedly receiving gifts from the extortion of Rs 200 crore from Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Singh, the actress vehemently denies any romantic involvement with Sukesh.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar, currently in Delhi’s Mandoli jail, has been rumored to have a relationship with Jacqueline. Despite Jacqueline denying any romantic involvement, she remains an accused in the case and has undergone multiple questioning sessions with the Enforcement Directorate.
Sukesh, writing letters to Jacqueline from jail, sought forgiveness for the troubles caused and expressed anticipation for a future proposal. The letter, addressing Jacqueline as “my love” or “baby,” also congratulated her on receiving an award.
