Maharashtra: 12-year-old boy booked over killing of student during fight

Thane: An official said that a 12-year-old boy was booked in connection with the death of a civic school student in Thane in January last year. The murder case was registered after the mother of the victim moved to the court and filed a complaint.

The Kapurbawdi police station official said that the case under Indian Penal Code section 302 was registered on the complaint of the victim’s father.

In her complaint, she alleged that an eyewitness told her that there was a fight between the accused boy and the deceased 10-year-old boy on the school premises. The accused sat on the victim’s chest and strangulated him to death.

The official informed,”The child, 10 at the time, had quarreled with the accused, also a student of the same school, on January 11 last year. The accused allegedly pushed the killed to the ground and strangled him. No arrest has been made in the case.”
