Assam: On Tuesday, police said that one person arrested after the Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Special Narcotics Police Station and Crime Investigation Department (Crime), Aizawl, recovered heroin worth over Rs 25 lakh at Zuangtui in Aizawl.
Police said the operation on Monday was carried out by a joint team of Assam Rifles and Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime), Aizawl based on specific information. The estimated cost of the recovered three soap boxes (35.740 grams) of heroin is Rs 25,01,800.
Police said the consignment recovered and the person arrested were handed over to the Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime), Mizoram, Aizawl on Monday for further legal proceedings.
Assam Rifles in collaboration with Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime), Aizawl recovered 27 soap boxes (325.3 grams) of heroin worth Rs 2,27,65,000 in three separate operations in Aizawl, earlier on Sunday.
Assam Rifles also said that it had apprehended three persons on April 13, 2024. The joint team of Assam Rifles and Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime), Aizawl carried out this operation based on specific information.
The estimated cost of the recovered 27 soap cartons of Heroin No. 4 is Rs 2,27,65,000 (Rupees Two Crore Twenty Seven Lakh Sixty Five Thousand Only). The recovered goods and apprehended persons were handed over to Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime), Mizoram and Aizawl on April 13, 2024.
