PAC Commando Injured in ‘Accidental Firing’ While Cleaning Gun at Ayodhya Ram Temple Complex

In an unfortunate incident at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya, a Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) commando, Platoon Commander Ram Prasad (50), sustained injuries due to an accidental firing while cleaning his weapon. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening, resulted in Prasad being swiftly taken to Ayodhya Medical College and later referred to KGMU Lucknow for further treatment due to the seriousness of his condition.

PAC Commando Injured in Accidental Firing


Prasad, who has been stationed at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex for security duties for approximately six months, was cleaning his weapon when the mishap took place, according to Inspector General of Police Pravin Kumar. Dr. Vinod Kumar Arya, the emergency in-charge at Ayodhya Medical College, reported that the bullet struck Prasad on the left side of his chest, necessitating his transfer to KGMU Lucknow for advanced medical care.

Hailing from Achalpur village in Amethi district, Prasad’s unfortunate injury serves as a reminder of the risks associated with security duties, even in seemingly routine tasks like firearm maintenance.
