Speaking at a rally in Nawada, Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the former UPA government, saying that life was tough for poor people before 2014. The event was heavily guarded by the state police, and it was Modi’s second rally in Bihar since the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections.

Modi talked about Bihar’s rich history, mentioning famous figures like Chandragupta Maurya and Acharya Chanakya. He also praised modern leaders like Bihar Kesari Krishna Babu and Loknayak Shri Jaiprakash Narayan, showing the area’s importance in history and politics.

Modi said, “The people of Bihar support NDA. They believe NDA will win with 400 votes.”

He was excited to meet voters during the rally in Nawada, which was scheduled for around 11 am.

Vivek Thakur, the son of senior BJP leader C P Thakur and a Rajya Sabha MP, is the BJP’s candidate for the Nawada Lok Sabha constituency. Earlier, Modi had started the NDA’s election campaign in Bihar with a rally in Jamui on April 4.

The first phase of polling on April 19 covers Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, and Jamui Lok Sabha constituencies. According to the NDA’s agreement in Bihar, the BJP will contest 17 seats, while its ally JD(U) will contest 16 seats.

The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will compete for five Lok Sabha seats, and the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) will contest one seat each under the NDA alliance.
