Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, seeking re-election from Wayanad, submitted his nomination papers, accompanied by a comprehensive declaration of his assets. This disclosure provides insight into Gandhi’s financial holdings as he vies for another term in office.
According to the election affidavit submitted by Gandhi, he possesses Rs 55,000 in cash and maintains savings bank accounts with a cumulative balance of Rs 26 lakh. Additionally, his earnings for the fiscal year 2022-23 amounted to Rs 1.02 crore, sourced from various avenues including his salary as the Wayanad MP, bank interest, dividends, bonds, and royalties.
Gandhi’s asset portfolio includes immovable property valued at Rs 11.15 crore, comprising commercial buildings and both agricultural and non-agricultural land.
