Railways Adjusts Schedules for Ayodhya-bound Trains Ahead of Historic Ram Temple Event

New Delhi : In anticipation of the momentous consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol at Ayodhya’s grand Ram temple on January 22, the Indian Railways has proactively modified the schedules of several trains bound for the sacred town. Minister of State for Railways, Darshana Jardosh, took to social media to release a comprehensive list of trains destined for Ayodhya, complete with their updated schedules originating from various cities.

Meeting Devotees’ Demand


Responding to the escalating demand from devotees eager to participate in the auspicious event, Minister Jardosh emphasized the Railways’ commitment to facilitating the pilgrimage, stating, “Indian Railways will take you to the faith of Ayodhya… In view of the increasing demand of Ram devotees, some changes have been made in the trains going to Ayodhya.”

Revised Train Services



The revised list of trains heading to Ayodhya includes:

Udhna – Ayodhya – Udhna (Services commence on January 30)
Indore – Ayodhya – Indore (Services commence on February 10)
Mahesana – Salarpur – Mahesana (Starting from January 30)
Vapi – Ayodhya – Vapi (Starting from February 06)
Vadodara – Ayodhya – Vadodara
Palanpur – Salarpur – Palanpur (Services commence on January 31)
Valsad – Ayodhya – Valsad (Starting from February 02)
Sabarmati – Salarpur – Sabarmati

Countdown to the Ceremonial Day


The ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony of Lord Ram in Ayodhya is scheduled for January 22. The commencement of Vedic rituals on January 16, a week prior to the main event, will mark the initiation of this grand ceremony. The rituals will be conducted by Lakshmi Kant Dixit, a priest from Varanasi. Ayodhya will be immersed in the Amrit Mahotsav from January 14 to January 22.

Prime Minister’s Participation and Special Rituals


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple on January 22. Ahead of this significant event, the Prime Minister will observe an 11-day anushthan (rituals) in Ayodhya, starting from today. Expressing his sentiments, he said, “Only 11 days are left for Ram Lalla’s ‘pran pratishtha’ in Ayodhya. I am fortunate to witness the auspicious occasion. God has asked me to represent the people of India during the ceremony. Keeping in mind, I am beginning an 11-day special ritual from today. I seek blessings from all of you.”
