Rajasthan: 14 children got burnt due to electric shock during Shiv procession in Kota

Kota: Today, At least 14 children were electrocuted during a 'Shiv Baraat' procession on the occasion of Mahashivratri in Kota, Rajasthan. The condition of one child is said to be very serious. All the children have been admitted to MBBS hospital.

Kota: Today, At least 14 children were electrocuted during a ‘Shiv Baraat’ procession on the occasion of Mahashivratri in Kota, Rajasthan. The condition of one child is said to be very serious. All the children have been admitted to MBBS hospital.

This accident happened near Kunhadi Thermal intersection of Kota around 12.30 pm. Many children were carrying religious flags in the Shiva procession. During this time a flag touched the high tension line.

As soon as information about the accident was received, the medical team was alerted. The relatives of the injured children beat up the organizers who reached the hospital. IG Ravidutt Gaur said that one child has suffered 70 percent burns and the other 50 percent. The remaining children suffered 10 percent burns. The age of the children is said to be nine to 16 years.

As soon as information about the incident was received, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also reached the hospital. He said that the incident is very sad. Everyone is currently engaged in the treatment of children. One child is serious. If there is a need for referral, that will also be done. Children will be provided the best possible treatment.
