Rajasthan Police: Man Murders Father, Buries Body Inside House

Rajasthan: In a shocking incident reported from Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district, a man named Chunni Lal stands accused of killing his own father, Rajeng Baranda, aged 60. According to the Rajasthan Police, the crime occurred following a heated argument between the two on Wednesday, during which Chunni Lal reportedly attacked his father with a sharp weapon, resulting in fatal injuries to Rajeng Baranda.

The victim, Rajeng Baranda, succumbed to his injuries on the spot. After committing the crime, Chunni Lal allegedly buried his father’s body in the courtyard of their house, attempting to conceal the heinous act.

Family members of the victim, including his other sons Prakash, Dinesh, and Pappu, grew concerned when they did not see Rajeng Baranda for two consecutive days. Upon inquiry, it was revealed that Prakash and his mother resided in Ahmedabad, while the other siblings, including Chunni Lal, lived in Balwara village, Dungarpur. Rajeng Baranda lived with Chunni Lal in a separate house.

Suspicions arose when Dinesh and Pappu informed Prakash about their father’s disappearance. Prakash, accompanied by his mother, arrived at the village and confronted Chunni Lal about the matter. Initially, Chunni Lal provided false explanations regarding his father’s absence. However, on Friday, he reportedly confessed to the murder, prompting the family to approach the police.

Following the confession, the police launched an investigation, leading to the exhumation of the victim’s body from the courtyard. The body was then transferred to the mortuary of the district hospital.

Chunni Lal has been arrested by the Rajasthan Police, and a case has been registered against him under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the gravity of the crime committed by the accused.
