Goa: A video of two children sleeping on the roof of a moving SUV in Goa, a popular tourist destination in India, has sparked widespread concern and uproar on social media. The video was shared online on 27 December and has since been viewed over 15,700 times, sparking discussion on child safety and responsible behaviour, particularly in leisure tourism areas, where to some extent Discipline is required.
The video shows a man sitting on top of an SUV who is confronted for allowing his children to sleep on top of the vehicle while passing through the scenic Parra Coconut Tree Road. Despite the collision, the driver dismisses the concerns and continues on his route. This apparent disregard for safety has angered social media users, many of whom have expressed dismay at the carelessness of parents and the potential danger to children.

There has been a unanimous call on Goa Police to take strict action against the driver. A social media user stressed the need for strict action against the Telangana man whom he held responsible for the incident. Still, it is not clear whether the driver put the children inside the vehicle later or stopped the SUV. At present no complaint has been filed regarding the viral video.
This incident is a reminder of the need for responsible behavior especially in a tourist hotspot like Goa. Although these areas are associated with relaxation, they also require discipline and adherence to safety measures to ensure the well-being of everyone, especially children. This increases the need for strict enforcement of tourist guidelines to prevent recurrence of such dangerous incidents.
