This action has been taken by the department because 18 children allegedly died in Uzbekistan after drinking cough syrup prepared by this company.

After this case came to light, 36 samples of the drug company were sent to the regional drug testing lab in Chandigarh for checking. Out of which 22 samples failed to meet the standards, several samples of cough syrup were found to contain high levels of Diethylene Glycol and Ethylene Glycol.

Along with this, profiling glycol was found in cough syrup, although it has not yet been confirmed whether children have died after drinking this cough syrup. Out of the 36 samples sent there, reports of 14 samples are yet to come.
