In response to the pressing concerns of global warming and climate change, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to expedite the formulation of the Green Hydrogen Policy in Uttar Pradesh.
The move is aimed at fostering clean and sustainable energy production within the state, aligning with efforts to combat environmental challenges.
During a comprehensive review of the draft policy, Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized the importance of consulting stakeholders in the sector. He highlighted the need for input from investors and users to ensure that the finalized policy maximizes benefits for all parties involved.
Adityanath underscored the significance of green hydrogen as a clean energy source in achieving the target of net zero emissions, urging its widespread encouragement and adoption.
The directive also includes measures to incentivize companies operating in the green hydrogen sector. Proposed benefits for such firms encompass access to land, exemptions from stamp duty and electricity duty, as well as capital and interest subsidies, among other attractive incentives.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Adityanath instructed officials to conduct a thorough study of similar policies implemented by various states. This proactive approach aims to incorporate successful strategies and best practices into Uttar Pradesh’s Green Hydrogen Policy for enhanced effectiveness and positive outcomes.
