Air India has announced the purchase of a total of 470 large and small size aircraft from Airbus and Boeing. Air India will supply Airbus 250 and Boeing 220 aircraft. Airbus will also start delivery of aircraft by the end of this year. This is the first time in 17 years that Air India has placed an order for the purchase of aircraft.
New Delhi: On Tuesday, Air India has agreed to buy 250 jets from Airbus, including 210 narrowbody planes and 40 widebody aircraft, N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Group, the airline's new owner said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron, Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury attended the launch of the partnership.
