Rajasthan: Congress Manvendra Singh’s wife and Jaswant Singh’s daughter-in-law Chitra dies in road accident

Rajasthan: On Tuesday, Former Congress MP Manvendra Singh's wife Chitra Singh was killed in Rajasthan's Alwar in a road accident. Three persons, including Manvendra, present in the car got injured in the accident. Manvendra Singh's son was also present in the vehicle.

Rajasthan: Congress Manvendra Singh’s wife and Jaswant Singh’s daughter-in-law Chitra dies in road accident

Rajasthan: On Tuesday, Former Congress MP Manvendra Singh’s wife Chitra Singh was killed in Rajasthan’s Alwar in a road accident. Three persons, including Manvendra, present in the car got injured in the accident. Manvendra Singh’s son was also present in the vehicle.

The Congress leader sustained injuries in the accident, and he was rushed to the hospital. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his condolence in a post on X.

According to the prime interrogations, Chitra was sitting in the passenger seat next to her husband, who was driving the vehicle. In a post on social media platform X, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said, “The news of the demise of Mrs Chitra Singh, wife of Manvendra Singh Jasol in a road accident is sad. I pray to God to give peace to the departed soul and courage to the family. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of Shri Manvendra Singh Jasol and other family members injured in the road accident.”

According to the information received by police, Manvendra’s son Hamir Singh and the driver were in the rear seat. As per initial findings, CCTV cameras installed in the area were not working on the stretch where the accident happened.

Manvendra Singh was a member of Lok Sabha from the Barmer-Jaisalmer constituency from 2004 to 2009. His father, Jaswant Singh was a political stalwart, who held several crucial roles and was one of the founding members of the BJP. He passed away in 2020.
